Hi, I (F18) broke up with my, now, ex-boyfriend (M18) yesterday. For some context, we had known each other for a few months and started dating at the beginning of March this year. We’re long-distance, him being from the US and I from the UK.

In the beginning, everything between me and him was going pretty smoothly. Conversation was flowing, our phone calls were frequent and lasted a while, communicating between us on when we’d be busy was strong. That all came to a stop on March 31st, he had sent me a text at 4:06AM my time, to which I didn’t reply to until I was awake. I never got a reply at all that day. Or the day after, or the day after that.

It was pure radio silence from him for 6 entire days. He had missed our anniversary on April 3rd. On April 5th, he was shown as online on Discord for about 20 minutes, until he went back offline. During that time frame I texted him twice, to which no reply. Yesterday, at almost 7pm, I sent him a long text explaining how he made me feel and how I understand he may of been busy but a text from him could have helped let me know he was okay instead of leaving me to worry. Alongside this, his Steam Activity said that during the past few days there were 2 games he had played. I still haven’t heard anything from him either!

This entire situation has been frustrating for me and I was honestly hesitating on breaking things off with him because I love him a lot and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. My friends say I was right for doing it whereas some say I should’ve waited longer.

So Reddit, AITAH?

TLDR; Boyfriend was radio silent towards me for 6 days despite his Steam Activity saying he had played 2 games in the past few days & showing online on Discord for at least 20 minutes before going back offline. Broke up with him, unsure whether or not I’m the asshole.
