I (f14 when this happened) went to this private school that was very strict and conservative for about 4 years (I do not go to this school anymore because of this incident along with other problems with the school). They wrote a school policy stating rules and whatnot and you had to sign it, one of those rules was that if you got caught with your phone in class the teacher would take it and you wouldn't have your phone for the whole day and wouldn't get it back til the next day, the second time you got caught they would take it for a week and so on and so forth. My dad never signed the phone policy paper the second year the rule was in place, the first year they added it to the handbook my dad sighed it but added that he did not agree with the rules and to just call him if they caught me with my phone and to not take it. The first time I got caught with my phone (second year the rule was in place) I had completely forgotten it was in my pocket but I still got it taken away which it understandable. The second time I got caught with it, it was in my backpack in the side pocket, zipped up and hidden (We could have ourer phones in class as long as it was on do not disturb and in our backpack). My teacher had apparently seen my phone somehow in my backpack, like the outline of it) in my backpack and reached down and unzipped my backpack and took it out, she told me I was in big trouble and that she would be telling the Head of School. Later on the day I got called into the principals office and the principal told me to put in the password to my phone because she couldn't get in, I asked her if I could call my dad, she said no, I asked this woman multiple times if I could call my dad because I didn't know what to do, every time she said no. Eventually I told the principal that my dad never signed the paper, she told me he did and to put in the password on my phone, I got fed up because the woman kept saying that I was hiding something and that was getting into more trouble, she also called me a liar because I told her my dad never signed the paper and put in the password, there was nothing bad on my phone but the principal apparently told my dad that was looking at my phone in class at inappropriate stuff. When I got home that day, my dad told me he didn't believe anything the principal said and that he would talk to her. I kinda felt like I did something wrong by bringing my phone to school, I don't know what to think. So AITAH ?
