I (34m) bought my ex wife (38F) a car (a year before our split), selling my motorcycle to free up the finances to do so. After our split, I willingly let her keep her car, without a fight, keeping my own vehicle. About 18 months after our split, I received a recall alert on the car for something pretty minor, and immediately informed her about it (the car was still in my name at this point, solely because she couldn’t figure out how to get the loan transferred to her name despite my requests to do so, so she could officially own the car).
Her response to me sending her the recall info was rather baffling. She was very condescending, saying that it was awesome that I bought her a car with a recall on it, and thanked me (with !!!)
I tried to explain how recalls work, and that there wasn’t a recall at the time I bought the car, but she still insisted that I must’ve known about the future recall when I purchased her the vehicle.
So, AITAH? I’m starting to think she might be right and that I should’ve predicted something like this could’ve happened.
