This is going to be a long story, so sorry if I vent. I just need to know if I'm in the wrong. I am a 16-year-old Female, and I have 2 sisters, with me being the middle sister. My older sister I'll call Lily, and my younger sister I'll call Mal. Lily has a Bf she has known for 2 years now. I'll call J for the reason I can't say yet. Before I tell you the reason I might be the asshole let me give you some backstory Lily and J started dating in the 11th grade of high school with J being a year older they had some trouble in their relationship with J cheating on my sister and the girl's little sister telling Mal what happened and how J was cheating causing a big fight between them and more issues with J mother taking 200 dollars from my sister to "Fix a door" and our Mom refused to let Lily see J until his mother returned the money because back then Lily was saving to fund her first apartment. Our mom has always been a No bullshit person and never sugarcoated anything and always said everything straight up she never liked to beat around the bush. So when she saw how much Lily was putting into the relationship while J barely remembers her birthday, she told Lily to think wisely about what she wants with J and how she wants her life to go. But Lily thought she knew J better and kept trusting him even after everyone she knew was telling her to watch him or at least not be so trusting. So now you have some backstory on what kind of person J is. So to get in the story, 2 weeks ago Lily got her first apartment only in her name because J has a Record but also because our mom refuse to let her sign him on the lease (We don't like to disappoint our mom so Lily agreed) but before Lily got her key she got into a Physical fight with J leading to their break up and J stealing her phone and leaving our city, now some more backstory J was using Lily's phone to deliver food because he broke his phone. of course, this made all of us freak out because Lily blindly gave her phone to a man who had her password to it with all her info on it and 2 days after J tried to get her money out of her bank account but failed because he didn't know any of her passwords or pins so Lily was able to freeze her accounts with the help of our mom who wanted to track him down and get her phone back but he was moving from state to state and turned off the location so she came home crying and I coaxed the story out of her. In my shock, I called her a dumb ass for giving a man that much trust after everything he did to her which made her and mom upset so mom sent me to my room until I apologized for not being supportive while lily is going through a hard time. Mal thinks I could have said it better, but how do you say, "Why did you trust a man who cheated on you, let his mom steal 200 dollars from you, and physically fought you because you wanted to break up?" without looking unsupportive? I feel like she needed to hear it because even after being told multiple times that J was no good, she still defended him. So am I the asshole for being too honest with my sister while she cried about losing her phone?
