I (late 30s F) was going to go buy something for an event when my partner (mid 30s M) offered to help do it instead. I specified exactly what I needed. Later on, he said he decided to go with something else rather than what I asked for. I got upset since I asked for something specific. He then said he knew I was going to get upset over that but didn’t think I would get that upset and then showed me that he actually did buy what I asked for. My response was “what a weird thing to do to say or do something that’s going to intentionally upset me” and I then I said that’s kind of manipulative. He didn’t like that. He got mad and now isn’t talking me to. Was I the AH for calling his behavior weird? I’m kinda feeling bad now but this would have never happened if he didn’t pretend that he didn’t get what I asked for.
