So I have not been to my parents house for Easter the last 2 years - we have been at my husband’s families house. This year my parents asked us to come over and I said well my husband gets sick when we come over to your house so can we meet at a park. They said yes then invited my brother and his family to come also. Recently on March 25 my brother texts saying his daughter has Mono and they are taking her to the hospital for testing. Then last week my mom asked if we can have Easter at their house - they have a surprise for the kids and won’t share what it is. Then she says don’t worry we will spend most our time outside. At my son’s t-ball game she tells my husband that our niece can’t play on playgrounds because she could rupture her liver if she falls due to her mono. Today we were reading about mono and now we don’t want to go to Easter with my family because we don’t want our kids to catch mono from their cousin. I recall a friend in high school isolating herself with mono for what seemed like a month, but my niece is already back at daycare - but maybe she isn’t at daycare idk- I haven’t heard from my brother other than that text about the hospital back in March. To top it off we also got an invite for my niece’s birthday party this May. Which we already had plans to go out of town that weekend and cannot attend.
