This happened years ago, but it's something I just remembered recently. I placed a bid for a DVD on eBay which was from an international seller. I then saw how much extra I would be paying for imports fees and cancelled the bid. I should've looked more closely, I'll concede to that. Then I get a message from the seller.
"Congratulations for wasting my time. You're blocked now."
Bear in mind that it was less than minute after placing the bid that I also cancelled it, meaning it's likely by time they saw the bid notification, they also would've seen the cancellation one, so I don't really see the net loss here. The only time I "wasted" would be the literal seconds it would've taken them to read it.
The listing also had a couple of days left if I remember right, so there was plenty of time for someone else to bid. It's not like I swiped it at the last second causing someone else to miss out.
I would understand their frustration more if I had purchased the DVD only to end up cancelling the order, but that's not the case.
Am I missing something that would make their response more justified?
