I have a friend I became very close with a few years ago. I’ve known them for 8 years. We used to talk daily but now, it’s weeks when I hear from him. Two years ago he started this trend and I have since tried to end the friendship multiple times. I’m open and clear about why, and he always says he doesn’t want to “not talk to me.” “Having you in my life makes me a better person,” “I don’t want to go a week without talking to you,” etc.

Do I want to lose this friend? No. But they have completely and utterly ignored me for a few months now. I took two items, totally almost $1000 to try and sell for him. They’re collectors items. He doesn’t have a way to sell stuff online. I listed them but haven’t pushed to sell since I’ve been busy. But now I don’t even want to bother.

I told him he can either pick them up or I can PayPal him when they’re gone. I also said I don’t want to sell them but I don’t want to see him either.

Am I being an asshole?
