For context: baby is 6 weeks old. I made a post here regarding comments my MIL has made in regards to me feeding my baby formula instead of exclusively breastfeeding. Well she came over again and Saw my son had spit up some (he had just finished eating) and said “I’d spit up that formula too if I was you”. This was after a history of making comments about formula feeding( see my other post in post History if you want).

My MIL had mentioned at an earlier point how her and my FIL didn’t have money when they had my husband (they still don’t but whatever) so she breastfed because it was free. I’m wondering if some of her comments judging me for formula feeding are rooted in the fact that maybe she’s mad/jealous she didn’t have the choice to breastfeed or formula feed? So when I told my husband I don’t want her over for a while, he said that her comments shouldn’t bother me, insinuating it’s fine if she’s over here just “tune her out”. He just seemed to downplay instead of validate that maybe she should not come over for a while.

So I clapped back and said “not my fault your parents were poor and living paycheck to paycheck”. AITAH?
