About a year after a 10 yr marriage and an emotionally messy divorce, I connected with my one of my wifes best friends that had moved to another state right after high school. The friend had stood up in our wedding and had visited 2 times during our ten year marriage. During our divorce process my wife was very manipulative, constantly playing the "if you do ___ , maybe there's a chance for us". After a year of hearing that, I found out she had been sleeping with a coworker of hers ever since we separated. When her friend reached out I was incredibly happy because she was one of the hottest women I had ever known, and I had thought about her for years. We went on to date long distance for three years, with my wife using our relationship as poison to badmouth me to our kids (telling them her friend was always a slut in high school etc.).
