For Easter lunch, my spouse and I invited my sister in law over for a Easter lunch, she asked if she could bring her friend and his 3 year old daughter (let’s call him Daniel and His daughter Patricia), I allowed under one circumstance. Daniel to watch Patricia so she doesn’t get into anything and being gentle with my 3 dogs, Daniel agreed.

My sister in law and her friend Daniel arrive and we’re having a good time, we are just finishing up lunch. Patricia disappeared, I kindly asked Daniel to make sure she’s not getting into anything, Daniel came back with Patricia and said she was playing with my dogs toys.

They left an hour and a half ago, I went into my office to use my iPad that I had charging on my desk and my iPad was out of place. I turned it on to be met with a damaged display, luckily I keep a nanny cam in my office to keep an eye on one of my dogs who gets crated while I’m away. Lo and behold Patricia gets ahold of my iPad and drops it on the floor face down and took her fathers keys and scratched my 75 gallon aquarium

I want to put myself at fault for not putting up my iPad before guests arrived because I never thought of it, but at the same time I asked my sister in law to make sure Daniel agrees to watch Patricia to which he agreed to at the time and failed to do what he agreed to do. I can’t put up a 1200lb aquarium out of children’s reach

I don’t have children and very seldom do they ever have any guests over especially when there’s children involved. AITAH?
