For this ill have to state race bc its important for context.

So im out clubbing with one friendship group and we bump into 2 more other friendship groups im in. Theres my work friend group, my college friend group, and my bf friend group.

I end up hanging out with the college friend group as i dont see them much anymore for a while. My friend M introduces me to her friend A’s older sister and the older sisters friend- they’re all black except M. The older sisters friend confuses me for another girl. Im not bothered and correct my name we laugh and move on.

Anyway, i end up bumping into my work friend group which includes this girl K i met on the last night out. She is also black, and very shy so when I see her i try to get her involved snd break her out of her shell as much as i can.

Moved from that group to my bf group and got insanely drunk. Like everythings blurry snd im crying abt stupid shit in our relationship drunk.

So me snd the girls are sat on the floor and the boys are stood further away cus we wanted to girl talk about this girl E’s bf. Someone shouts my name and I think its A and her friendship group and I see who I think is K and I shout K to get her attention and she can join the goss. Turns out it wasnt K, it was A’s older sister’s friend from earlier, as they all start calling me racist and shouting at me. They walk away and as they walk back past later they start mocking saying “K, K!!” and flipping me off calling me a racist.

I shout fuck off at her but then start just bawling my eyes out- sad drunk again. I go over to my bf and im crying thinking im racist and start feeling bad about telling her to fuck off. He says valid when shes shouting and angry.

Ive woke up today and still feel bad. I have OCD and one of the things im scared about/overthink is racism. So im terrified im a racist inside and now ive just done it so I am a racist? if that makes any sense.

So AITAH for confusing A’s older sister’s friend with K?
