My boyfriend of 3 years (39M) mentioned today he plans to go to a surprise birthday party for his good friend (40M) "Chuck," who I've met and hung out with many times, at drinks, Halloween parties, informal social gatherings, barbecues, et cetera. Chuck and I have always gotten along well.

My boyfriend didn't invite me, and said he would "stop by" the event at 9pm Saturday. I said, "So, should I assume you're busy that night and we won't see each other?" and he said yes.

I asked more about the event, and it turns out Chuck's girlfriend "Carmen" (41F) texted my boyfriend inviting him. The surprise party will apparently include Chuck's friends and Chuck's teammates from the coed rec league volleyball teams he's on. Carmen and my boyfriend are both on those teams.

Carmen asked my boyfriend to invite the other team members for Chuck's surprise. AITA for getting upset he didn't invite me, as well?
