We worked together and before she left, she asked if she could give me a couple bottles of alcohol that she stole off her daughter. I wasn't comfortable with this and told her that it's kinda shitty to go snooping through her daughter's room. Her daughter is 15 btw so its not cool for her to have alcohol.
She gave me the bottles even tho I rarely drink but that's fine because my friend never drinks anyway and I've been having the odd drink to help me get a bit more social. So the bottles were sitting in my room for a couple months, she never came to claim them. Come christmas, I decided to give one of the bottles to a mutual friend of ours because he loves whiskey then I told my friend and she got pissed off. I was taken aback because she actually said I could have the bottles. That's where her story changed from stealing the bottles off her daughter to "my students gave me those bottles as a gift" which had to be bullshit because when she gave me the bottles there was a heap of dust caked on them like they've been sitting there for a long time, they could not have been a gift but either way, her changing the story as a bit of a red flag.
So I said that's fine, I'm happy to pay for both bottles (I've had 1 shot out of the other one, its been over 6 months) but now even tho she told this little lie, I just can't trust her. It's a weird lie and one of those lies that makes me question everything she's ever said to me prior. I will pay for the bottles but I really don't want to.
