A bit of context first: Every 2 weeks my grandma and i buy those mint bubblegum micro packages for us to enjoy. And my grandpa usually asks me if i can give him one sheet of bubblegum, it's not the issue itself. The thing is that he asks me almost every day, and i run out of bubblegum faster. Money is not something we have to spare.
The issue started a few days ago when he noticed that i got annoyed because he asked me for bubblegum again, He told me he would buy me a bubblegum package. Today while having breakfast he did game a package like the ones i buy with my grandma, i didn't opened it at the time so i started to think "wow i didn't expect him to actually do it" and then i wondered if he took one of the sheets for himself, which wouldn't have bothered me.
When i finished and went to my room i opened the package to find that out of 15 sheets there where only 9. That was upsetting, so i gave the package back to him. And now he's upset.
Question people are probably gonna ask: 1-Why do you feel so strongly about bubblegum? – Is not the bubblegum itself, i have hyperactive thinking process, and i need something to divide my attention to focus. And i choose chewing on something. 2-What does your grandmother thinks about it? –When my grandpa asked me why did i gave it back i just said that he can keep it, he asked if it was because of the missing sheets and i said yes. Said i was expecting to have a complete package and my grandma nodded in agreement. 3-Where are your parents in all of this? –Minor issue, not relevant for them. 4-I'm 17m.
So, AITAH for giving back a half used gift?
