I 18F and my dad 46M have always had problems. Even at 14 I always argued with him. I recently turned 18 and voting and politics has come up a lot with him. To avoid bias I’m going to say he supports Triangle and I support Square instead of actual political groups. When I told him I supported square he instantly began interrogating me, throwing out flaky facts and scenarios, and getting very upset. I (being a 4 time district debate champion) easily countered and shut down his opinionated statements, and answered all his questions with logic and facts, explaining bad things triangle wants to do and supporting square. He was outraged and told me I was grounded for talking back and being disrespectful. I was shocked that he would ground me for an opinion and my mom was too, now I’m just confused. He was the one who started all of this. AITAH?
