📝 AITAH for leaving a date at the restaurant because she wouldn't stop taking pictures of the food?

So I (28M) went on a second date with this girl (26F) I met through a mutual friend. First date was coffee and a walk, super chill, great vibes, so I figured we’d try something nicer and took her to a restaurant I really like. It's not crazy expensive but definitely not a casual place.

The moment we sit down, she’s already pulling out her phone to get pictures of the menu, the decor, our table setting—you name it. Okay, no big deal, maybe she likes photography or something. But then the food comes.

She insists on taking multiple pictures of every dish. Not just her plate—every dish. Appetizers, mains, drinks. Different angles, lighting, repositioning cutlery. She even made me hold my plate up at one point because “the light was better.”

I try to be patient, but she literally says “Wait, not yet” when I pick up my fork to eat. I sit there awkwardly while she takes dozens of photos, saying things like “This is going to kill on IG” and “I need content for the week.” This happened with every course. At one point, the food was legit going cold and I was starving, but nope—I had to wait until she got “the perfect shot.”

I got more and more frustrated, but didn't want to start a fight, so I excused myself to the bathroom, found our server, and secretly paid the bill. Then I walked out, got in my car, and went home.

She messaged me later saying I was rude, immature, and embarrassed her. Said I ruined her content and wasted her time. I told her I didn’t sign up to be a prop in her photoshoot and that I was hungry, uncomfortable, and done.

Some friends say I should’ve just stuck it out or communicated better. Others think I dodged a bullet.

So, AITAH?
