I want yo tell this for too long

AITAH for never speaking to my old neighbor/crush again after one rude message, even 10 years later? Ten years ago, I had a huge crush on a girl who was our neighbor. For the last 3 years of school, we had a really close friendship and yes, there were mutual feelings involved, but it was purely emotional. Nothing physical ever happened. Just two young people who cared about each other deeply. In our final year of high school, I got accepted into one of the top public universities in the country. She got into another good university as well. I was excited and sent her a friendly message asking, “So where are you registering? What major are you thinking of?” Her reply hit me like a brick: “Oh, so you got into THAT university and now you think you’re better than everyone? You’re really asking me that like you’re someone special?” I was honestly stunned. I didn’t even know how to reply. I just… froze. That one message turned my silence into deep, burning hatred. I can’t explain it something in me switched completely. I never messaged her again. Not once. From that day until today, I’ve never spoken to her again. She later asked my mom about me and said, “I know I made a mistake and did something bad, but it doesn’t justify him never messaging me again, not even saying hi.” My mom asked me about it and I told her, “She knows what she said. She knows why.” And to this day, we’re grown adults, and she’s still our neighbor and I still can’t stand her. I just… can’t. Say whatever you want about me. Honestly, I don’t even understand myself sometimes.

So... am I the asshole for completely cutting her off over one harsh message?
