Me and my Fiancée are getting married in a few months and are finalizing the guest list. My parents offered to give 20k Canadian to help pay for the wedding. We are both set on a guest amount of 90 people and want to keep it more personal and intimate with people we both know. My mother is insisting that we add 4 guests for her, two couples that are her friends because she “is proud” and wants to show off to her friends. they are people I know but my fiancee does not know them and I do not particularly think they would make the wedding better/ more special for us. My mother believes that since she is paying it’s the least we could do. But we disagree and believe we should not have to compromise anything we want for our wedding day and that we shouldn’t do this just to make her happy. She has even told me she regrets offering me the money and that I’m being rude for not wanting to include her guests. AITAH?
