AITAH? I(48) and my wife(47) been together 27 yrs. I’ve been lucky enough to have my side hustle company be profitable enough to the point where I hired my wife full time to oversee things at home. She’s a SAHW. I pay her $25/hr. From which she contributes to her 401k and pays taxes on. We’re empty nesters. She’s been at home for 3 yrs and is asking for a raise. She keeps the house and makes dinner most nights but I really don’t want to give her a raise for watching tv and shopping. We’ve been traveling a bit (Hawaii/DC) and smaller trips closer to home. We go out and hang with friends. All our expenses are paid from my primary job. We have a joint account and she has access to our finances. I thought she was just joking when she first mentioned it but I now think she’s serious. AITAH if I don’t give her a raise?
