Back when I was like 22-23 years old I started dating a new girl that I didn't really know that well after getting back from Afghanistan. Honestly just started as an easy lay after a year of not even seeing a woman in person. However it was good so we ended up dating for a while. We started discussing fantasies and things we were into and she told me she had a rape fantasy that she always wanted to live out but never asked anyone because she didn't want them to think she was weird. And I don't mean rape fantasy like your boyfriend has rough sex with you and you pretend to not like it. I'm talking she wanted to be home alone and have no early warning or discussion about when it would happen or if it would even be me. She wanted a guy or two(didn't even have to be me) to come into her house late at night or middle of the day just at random, wearing ski masks, throw her against a wall or onto the bed, and force themselves onto her and even said something about being choked to the point of losing consciousness or almost losing consciousness. Needless to say, her concern about someone thinking she was weird was a valid concern. Although I did date her for a couple more months, we never discussed any more fantasies.
Fast forward like 6-7 years and I find out she claimed someone from our hometown raped her. This guy was someone she has had sex with before(not saying that means he couldn't have done it). It went all the way to trial and ultimately he was acquitted.
Am I the asshole for not offering this information to the detectives? I guess it doesn't matter now because charges were dropped but should I have?
