i’m 19m and moved in with my 19f gf sometime a year ago by accident, and before i start i would like to say i completely understand both sides but i want an outside opinion on how it looks, what was meant to be a 2 week job hunt as i have her my laptop at the time and we live across the city turned into me living there full time, i was keen on getting a job around my area and i also wanted to focus on video editing hence i asked for the two week stay, which turned into „just one more week” (which they didn’t mind as i was helping out where i could and taking care of my disabled gf, which took the load off them aswell) of course i did not find a job in under a month, i signed up to do food deliveries, got accepted quick and learned how to make £300 a week off of it working part time, my gf at the time having no PIP or disability benefit we were going through an expensive time which meant after £300 a week only about £50 i kept to myself, part of this was bad habits that i tried to stop her from doing but that’s not the issue and it’s irrelevant, what’s relevant is the following:

after i rented an e-bike i started making around £500 a week, about £450-£550 after expenses, now this is the important part, her dad, yes he has been letting me stay for a while now not paying rent, but here is the issue: and it’s all he ever talked about, now bare in mind rent is £1800, electric and gas £200, water £200, council tax £200, now he gets: £650 from one brother (my gfs) £650 from the second £300 from sister £100 roughly from wife (yes he charges her rent and she’s a stay at home)

every week all he ever complains about is how he never has any money to himself, he is a supervisor at a transport company, meaning i know his gross after wages isn’t minimum wage at £1500 or something silly, this is another important point, he drinks alcohol, smokes cigarettes, vapes, and goes out to pub every week, he drinks 6 cans of beer daily (from what we are aware of) and has 2 cars, one which is not ulez compliant but he don’t wanna sell it, he runs through a good amount of cigarettes a day, but here’s the issue, he claims he has no money, he is so poor, the world is unforgiving, so over time he has increased all his kids rent over the years, what used to be £400 from brothers and £100 from sister, turned into the above, despite rent not going up as his landlord is a very sweet person and doesn’t want anymore, now here is where it gets fucked up, everywhere he sees money, someone making money, he makes an excuse to charge his kids more, my gf started getting disability benefit, he said she’s gonna have to pay rent because he „just can’t afford it” i started paying him £100, me and my gf compromised and we set up a buggy bank where everyone contributes an extra £40 a cash for the gas bills as that’s what he was complaining about, all he ever does is complain, no matter how much we give him, he increases everyone’s rent every now or so and finds any excuse to take more money, in my opinion, £1910 is enough to give one person, not for him, he claims this is not enough, he somehow manages to be on overdraft every month, of course i ended up getting a job, coincidentally, what happened? rent increase, did landlord increase rent? no, and i understand this point of: you live with him so yes his bills are gonna be higher due to them buying more,cooking more, using more electricity water etc. and here’s where i say, me and my gf shower together twice a week, we eat, cook, by ourselves, on my single salary of £1800 i have the expenses of 2 people due to my gf only having disability benefit, so of course he asks for me to pay £300 aswell, im 19, ive been working for a month, the brothers are 30 years old each, have been paying rent for last 5 years, sister is 24 been paying since 22, and his excuse is that everyone contributes and i should too, and this is also because one brother is putting pressure on his mum because he pays more than i do, so i snapped, i said he has no right to say that because at 19 he was mucking about not paying rent until 25, he didn’t have to pay rent at my age, £1910 is enough not including the old man’s salary to pay rent, i dont cost much as all my expenses are my own, i already contribute £140 a month, he already gets £1910, i said im not paying shit now, your rent has not increased but all you do is increase everyone’s rent and everyday (yes everyday) we go grocery shopping or buy ourselves a chocolate there’s comments of „ they can go shop but not pay rent” my point is: fuck off, i’m 19, no one on this house was paying rent at that age, i already pay £140, i want to save up money while i can, i have it all planned out, i already have the expenses of two people as previously mentioned my gf doesn’t have her own salary, which is fine, i adapt, but throughout her disability and her finding it all out , he has been unhelpful, telling her she’s making it up (he felt stupid after that was diagnosed) and he would call her lazy and unemployed since the pain first began at around 17-18 , he also tried to charge her rent before i knew her and she was still in college he told her to get a part time job to help with rent, so i snapped and said no, the deal was with the piggy bank no more winging, and there’s winging, so im not paying now, AITAH?

i’m annoyed because no matter how much we pay him every month he wants more and more and more , all the rent is already paid off
