I’m 26, and my parents(43F/M) and I are in a ROOMMATE situation. Until the lease is up in early 2026. My Mother and I split the rent and my Dad pays the utilities. My other sibling(25F) has recently moved in and is paying around $350/month.

To be quite frank, they are disgusting. They leave shit everywhere. Clothing, food, whatever. My Father was taken care of by his Mother to a point that when he met my Mom, he couldn’t do shit. Well, as an adult, living in the house with my parents, it’s terrible.

My Father has super dry skin and he has a darker tone so whenever he uses the restroom, his skin cells leave deposits all over the toilet. This looks like actual shit. He knows this happens, but never cleans up after himself.

None of them do. The downstairs bathroom that only my sister uses is fucking filthy and has shit stains, dirty towels and clothes, hair all over it.

My Mom will eat and leave whatever she’s eaten out of/remnants, wherever she was at. Whether this is the living room, her bedroom, the kitchen, whatever. She makes food in the kitchen and will leave the ingredients out so long that they spoil. Now, if you ask her why she did that, she’ll say because she wasn’t sure if she wanted to make a 2nd serving of it. Lol.

It’s crazy seeing my parents do shit that they beat the shit out of us for. Now, I notice that the only reason the house was even clean to the extent that it was when we were kids was because the children had chores.

This morning, I wake up and I have to pee. I have such severe posture issues from a narrowed airway that my body hasn’t felt like my own in the last couple of years. I’m only still in the household because of my health issues.

To make it clear they do not fund my life in any way whatsoever. We are actual roommates.

This morning I went to pee, sat on the toilet and forgot to do an obligatory check and thought that I sat on shit. Now that I’m calmer, I realize it must have been my Dad’s skin cells. Anyway, I called my Mom to warn her not to use that toilet and she exploded on me saying that I never clean the bathroom, which is my responsibility. Mind you, we have to have these responsibilities because they don’t clean up after themselves and will not clean, otherwise.

I do clean the bathroom but they are disgusting. My father in particular. So if I cleaned it now, it’ll be fucked up in the next 10 hours. I do not feel that I have to clean up after a grown ass man, or anyone, that is not my partner.

She’s upset because I called her instead of cleaning it up but I’m tired of cleaning up after them. Truly. I stay in my room 24/7 because I can’t stand to be out in the house.

The entire house is constantly fucked up no matter where you go.
