We typically spend a weekend at my MIL’s home. But everytime we go, she makes snarky comments about me & my children (who aren’t biologically hers) often within earshot of the kids.

Since last year(when I had class & couldn’t miss) she said a lot of hurtful things that my oldest daughter heard, and MIL has started to isolate me.

**edit to add I’ve been removed from the “family group chat” where mother sends all her glamorous travel to everyone (including ex that she cheated on & left for the family attorney). I’ve spoke with husband about this, and how if he wants us to have anything to do with her, he needs to address his mother. To which he said “he will be taking them” **

I’ve advised the husband that I’ll go, but we will be renting our own place. Which he refuses, so I’ve let him know if we don’t, we will not be going.

He’s acting like I’m keeping him & the kids from his mother. AITAH?
