I (18f) and my two best friends (17f) decided to reach out to our 2 ex best friends after a full year of no contact. We ended in a bit of an immature "high school" argument about something silly that I can't even remember. In our message we were apologetic even though we weren't the one's in the wrong initially and mentioned our impending graduation as a reason to reconnect. When they responded it sounded like they wanted to be friends again, but upon further reconsideration it sounds more like they want to keep the distance between us. While normally we'd all be like oh yeah that's fair; you're allowed to say that, but like, we were kind and we really miss our childhood friends. Our apology was genuine and they didn't really seem interested in talking to us, but more so mildly angry from our past arguments. Personally, I think they ought to grow up. But let us know, AWTAH?
