This is a one time burner because I do NOT want this anywhere near my main acc

My (F28) brother (M33) dates younger guys, which, isn’t really a problem(they’re all mid twenties) and had been ADULTS. They had stable jobs, finances, and were just young adults. Nothing too major.

Now my brother’s said some shady things in the past about younger men around the neighborhood but it’s never been taken seriously and it’s one of the reasons I kind of stayed clear, I always found him a bit odd, not predatory but just weird.

I know he’s lonely, he doesn’t really have much love in romance Ifykwim so me and the family try to be nice when he does find someone even if they don’t last.

Now all that aside.

Two weeks ago at a function my brother parades this BOY into my mother’s house, now I knew this boy, he went to the high school closest to our neighborhood, he graduated last year at 17, now he’s 18. Apparently they had quote on quote ‘Met at the park’ in March and my brother had asked him out in April.

BUT it gives me the Ick for two reasons, one, he is fresh 18, like he’s not been 18 for a month. And two, my brother wants to settle down, a 18 year old is not going to settle down.

I told him straight up at the event with family around that I felt it was weird he was dating someone who still had a curfew and whose parents paid his phone bill. It became an argument and my brother started calling me homophobic(which I’m not), saying I don’t wanna see him happy and a whole bunch of Bs.

I do wanna see him happy but I just don’t think that happiness should come from a kid, like how you thirty and you don’t see that as a child??????

But apparently I’m the crazy one and I had to leave the function.

I knew the kid’s parents(Facebook friends) so I took the liberty to reach out to them and no they did not know their son had a boyfriend nor where he was and since then my brother says they broke up. Come to find out, this ‘man’ turned 18 in April, as in this active currently alive Month. I have the inkling my brother knew this.

Everyone and I mean everyone “, my mom, cousins I don’t even fw, friends, and all have been down my ass about how I shouldn’t have messed this up for him and I stand by what I did.

The only one that don’t think I’m crazy is the kid’s parents. Which is very telling.
