My friend Sophie wanted croc accessories for her birthday, and since we donât attend the same school, posted in a group chat with all our friends that for her birthday she wanted everyone to get her a croc jibbit each. However, we (my other friends and I) had already planned the gifts we were going to give her. Since itâs difficult to buy these croc accessories in packs of one or two, we decided that I would buy a pack of them and give them to Sophie as well as the other gifts. We agreed to keep the contents of the gifts we were giving her secret to make it a surprise. However, a few days later, Sophie texted, saying that one of our friends had told her that we werenât going to buy a croc jibbit each, and that she knew I was going to buy them jointly. Apparently, she had come up with this âgameâ where she would guess who bought her which croc jibbit, and she wasnât happy that I bought all of them. Sophie said that I wasnât respecting her wishes, and that it was her birthday and we needed to listen to her instead of âdoing whatâs easy for us.â She also said that I had made her really upset by buying all of the croc jibbitz for her, and that I ruined her birthday, and that she was extremely mad at us. Her birthday is in a few weeks, and I donât know what to do. Was this my fault, or was she overreacting?
