📝 AITAH for saying no to an extended break?

TL;DR - was asked by a mate to stay back where I’m originally from after a weekend get together and not head back to the girlfriends until we get back from the stag which would be 2 weeks away from home. I’ve said no. Mates kicked off saying I should stay cause he’s made plans for us and I don’t have any plans at home. Even though all along I’ve told him I’m heading back home and he’s known this before he made any plans at all.

So some of you may recall the other day I mentioned a fall out with a mate about a text for a do in August.

Anyway we’ve been making plans and arranged to meet up for drinks at a mates house the weekend before the stag. I’ll travel on the Friday afternoon stay over and head back on the Sunday when everyone else leaves.

I’m travelling 2 hours for this night and then heading back home before going back 3 days later to head on the stag do.

I’ve told the lads that I’m heading back home on the Sunday and will head back up on the Wednesday for the stag do which with the same mate has not gone down well at all.

He’s told me I should stay up because he’s made plans for us to have a great week (Sunday to Wednesday) all the while he’ll be heading home most likely in the evening to see his other half and expects me to not see mine again until after the stag (2 weeks from the Friday for the drinks at a mates house)

I’ve told him I’m not doing that and I want to spend time at home and he’s said since I have no plans at home I should just stay because he’s made plans for us even though every time he’s asked me I’ve told him I’m going home.

Hes now in a massive strop with me because I’ve said no and things just feel real awkward now. The stag isn’t until mid August and I just feel now like all the built up to it is going to be a bit tense.

Am I the asshole here? I feel like him telling me I should stay back in my home town for 2 weeks and not see the girlfriend is a massively unrealistic expectation when I know he wouldn’t do it if it was the other way around.
