Hi I 16F and my mom 40F have a decent relationship. I've been babysitting since i was 13 and saved up a lot of the money which amounted to 1000 dollars which doesn't seem like a lot but to me it is. About a year ago my mom asked to borrow that money to pay for some credit cards and promised she would pay me back even with interest (btw i never asked her for interest). I never ask her to pay me back because I understand that she is surviving plus i don't mind racking up interest 😛.

So today we are talking and I mention needing 20 dollars for some food since i'm low on my allowance (which i use for to pay for salads, protein shakes, etc). I am extremely grateful for an allowance because not everyone has 40 dollars a week to spend on anything they want. Okay so back to the story. I mention needing 20 dollars and asked her if i could get it out of the interest she owes and she says no because i already have an allowance. I say okay that's fine but can i get it out of the money i made babysitting so then it's technically my money and she says no she won't let me spend it on food. (This is where I see my part in this so ik i seem bratty but hear me out) I say "I have a right to the money I worked for for years do I not" she said no you don't have a right to anything we go back and forth (driving on the way home) once we get home she says "your attitude is disgusting so I'm never giving you your money" I step out of the car and say "if u don't give me my money that i worked hard for and have a right to i'm going to rebel" she says "do it let's see you rebel don't escalate this because u aren't gonna like the outcome" I say "okay watch me" then i start getting loud making it obvious so neighbors could hear (townhouses) and I say "So you are going to steal money from your child" She gets angry storms into the house calls me an evil person who would kill their mother for a thousand dollars and i tell her she told me to rebel so i did. She then starts listing all the things she's ever bought for me and saying how i'm willing to ruin a relationship over a 1000 dollars but i say to her she already did by refusing to pay back her CHILD. she then kicks me in my leg and tells me to go find another mother because she doesn't want to be my mother anymore.

That's a shortened version but please help me i'm i the asshole?
