Writing here for the first time because I am at a total loss. My partner (both romantic and professional) has just published a new book, which I think is amazing. We were talking about the reviews and I showed him a comment made by a colleague, nothing particularly bad, just a slightly ironic statement on how graphics can sometimes mask the lack of deep content. The statement was general, the colleague hadn’t even read my partner’s book. Well, the fact that I shared that made my partner explode. In a few minutes, we went from partners (3 ongoing projects together) to “cancel everything,” “you are absolut rubbish for sharing that with me,” “I never want to see you again.” I could continue, but you get the idea. I am heartbroken, I have always admired and supported him, and I only showed him that comment because we had been talking about how success can trigger jealousy. AITAH for sharing that comment?
