This evening, my friend and I were chatting and she mentioned that last night she forgot to bring her. At I. Until it was really late. I calmly mention that her cat had been digging up my family's garden ( she's out neighbor) and asked her to please keep her cat inside or not let her out unsupervised. After this, she responded in a condescending way and basically said that her cat would do whatever she wanted and to deal with it and not expect her to "trap her cat inside". This may be where I could have been the A hole. I tired to stay calm but I was honestly insulted at her tone and told her that my dad was getting frustrated and angry about the situation. I mentioned that a couple of years ago, my dad had "taken care" of a cat infestation problem in my mom's old preschool where the cats had used the children sandbox as a litter box and that the topic was coming up recently in conversation. I made it clear that my dad had no clear intention of pulling this off again but that his patience with her cat was running thin. After this she just said that it was just a cat and the we had to deal with it. However, it's not just the cat. It's my mom's garden which she has spent a lot of time to grow and her cat is destroying her flowers. Once we got home, she sent me a threat telling me that if my dad hurt her cat her family would have him arrested and that off leash dogs were also illegal (we have two dogs and no fence so they tend to get out when we aren't paying close enough attention). I haven't responded to her but I also know that the law she is using against us also applies to her cat. I didn't know what to do, especially because I'm supposed to face her tomorrow. I could really use some outside insight. Quick thing, we are both still 16-17. I am not aware of what my dad did to the cats in the past as I have never been told.
