It’s recently come to my attention that I’m not good at conversations. Apparently people feel they can’t talk around me, or I’m not engaged enough in what they’re saying…. Is it my job to extract info/ interview someone if they aren’t participating in the conversation? For example, at a family dinner I asked my brother how he was doing, how’s work, etc, and I got a pretty generic “good, we just did this at work and now it’s pretty busy”. How do I respond if someone says 1-2 sentences and doesn’t provide any detail? Am I really suppose to just ask questions on questions? Is that how conversations go? I’m just in shock here, am I the asshole? Be kind 😫🥲
