So I am 20F and it all started at the birthday of friend 1. She told me her ex boyfriend would be coming with his girlfriend and that it ,,would be funny” to make her jealous. She told me that the girlfriend is very sensitive and thats why he never told her they were together. She believes they are just friends. To keep it short I became close friends with the girlfriend over time and we even hang out with friend 1 who pretended to be her friend while telling me she would totally hook up with him again when they break up. After the girlfriend started to say how he lied to her multiple times I felt even mire guilty for not telling her about the lie. I asked friend one If she could please tell her because Girls should work together and not keep guys stupid secrets. She just said its non of our business and that its their relationship and his lie. The next meet up with the girlfriend I told her EVERYTHING. I would wanna know if my boyfriend would lie to me and I would be mad at friends continuing the lie. So i believe it was the right thing to do. They had a big fight and the girlfriend said she wouldn’t be comfortable with them beeing friends (as exes and because of the lie). So he cut contact with friend 1. She shit talked and blamed me for it and said I was total asshole and shouldn’t have done it since its not my relationship. She even spread lies about me and basically kicked me out of the friend group. Later it came out he still keept contact with friend 1. A few month later he broke up with the girlfriend for another girl from work.

Its been a while but im still wondering if I shouldn’t have told the girlfriend? Everyone I tell about it said something different and some of them said Im the AH. So am I???
