I met these two girls and everything was okay until they both told me they liked the same guy lets call him James. The first girl lets call her Jane she told our whole friend group that she liked James. We all began joking about it and shipping them until one day the other girl lets call her Mary told me she likes him too. For a while me and Mary were the only people who knew about this until Jane told us that she got a boyfriend who wasnt James. We were all happy for her especially Mary who then thought it was the right time to tell Jane she likes James. She told her in front of everyone and as soon as she did Jane's smile disappeared she said she was joking about having a bf and that she still likes James. Thats when Mary and Jane started hating eachother. They also both started talking bad behind eachothers backs to me. This went on for months until one day I had enough. The whole group choose sides and split in two but I was stuck in the middle. So one night I called them both told both of them what the other was saying and I apologised for not saying something sooner. After I didnt talk to both in weeks until the group went out one day. I was suprised to see them talking but I was also glad they made up until I said hello and they ignored me. This went on for a couple of days I noticed they both blocked me on everything. One day Jane came up to me and said we had to talk that day they both sat down with me and told me how they cant believe what I did they said I started all this and its all my fault for them arguing that I split them apart. I apologised and said I didnt mean to do anything to hurt them. After they again stopped talking to me but whenever they met a new person they talk about how I tried to split them up. I wish I can leave but we are still in the same group. Is it all really my fault? Did I do the wrong thing? Should have I just kept quiet and let them fight and split the group apart?
