I (22F) overheard two girls talking bad about a girl in a class of mine. For this I’m going to call the girl in my class Karol (21F) and the other girl Sofi (21F). I don’t know Sofi or the other girl but I had seen them handing out with Karol and their friend group before. I was at a coffee shop on campus when I overheard her going on a rant abt Karol and making fun of her post as well as saying she’s a sl*t because she talks to a lot of guys. She made remarks like that for about 10min and stopped when one of Karol’s good friends got there. So that day when I had class with her I went up to her and told her what her friend was saying about her. Mind you I didn’t know this girls name or anything so I described what she looked like to Karol and that’s when she told me it was Sofi. Karol was really upset but I didn’t hear much more about it till two days later when Sofi saw me and told me “Make sure Karol knows I love her sooooo much and I would never talk bad about her Jess” mind you this took me off guard as I’ve never spoken to her so I wasn’t sure how she knew my name. When she said that I just ignored her and walked away as I didn’t feel like arguing over immature things. But since that happened her and her friend group have been harassing me every time one of them sees me they’ll say that I smell or that I look weird as well as give me messages to say to Karol. This has been pissing me off as I don’t feel like I did anything wrong so AITAH for telling Karol her friend was talking bad about her?
