Basically I (M/32) quit my job and moved in with my boyfriend (M/30) in a new state 8 months ago without a job lined up. Everything is good except I still can’t find a job here in my line of work except night shift which isn’t worth my mental health to me.

I’m low on cash now and he has since been paying for everything which he said he would do if I had a hard time finding work and is okay doing so. Although I appreciate it a lot I need to work and I don’t want to depend on someone like this entirely.

I started looking for work out of state and got a really good job offer. We’ve talked about this a lot and I told him a while ago I was planning to look for work out of state if I couldn’t find anything. We’ve been together 3 years and at this point he’s only willing to make the relationship work if I stay with him where we currently are.

I even brought up the idea of going long distance again with my new job and I’d be willing to continue applying to work where we are and move back if something comes up. I honestly don’t care where I live for the most part as long as I have a decent job.

He says he wants to move out of state anyways but whenever we talk about it he says he doesn’t know where he wants to go and he would need a few years to plan the move anyways.

Would I be stupid to reject this job offer?
