okay tldr this is a long ass story but me (14F) and my four other (13-14F) friends wanted to go see the minecraft movie this weekend at a movie theatre that's in quite an urban area. mind you the person hosting this, let's call her angela (not her name but i want to keep her privacy), is horrible at planning things. i'm srs js being honest, and it's like 80% her parents fault. and you can't blame it on me being a teen because everybody in our friend group and our parents agrees with this! but anyways we were going to go see the movie at 10:20, and then have a sleepover afterward. yes i know this is a crazy late time, BUT, the reason for this is because her parents bought them last minute just to "make sure", even though we knew everybody was available. anyways the plan was for all five of us to be at angela's house at or around 7 and then we'd manage to find a way to get to the theatre at around 10 or 950 pm. there was originally the option to have one of our parents drive one of us from angela's house to the theatre and then back for the sleepover. there was many issues with this, the timing was the main one, one of the parents had to drive us from angela's house at 950-10 (ish), and then back to angela's house at like midnight, the run time of the movie is 2 hours btw. so that was off the board. my other friend, let's call her mandy, had to idea to get an uber, but because angela's dad didn't have a ticket it would be more pricey than the $70 originally spent on the tickets. so that was off the board. my idea that all of us agreed was smart was that one person could share/not wear a seatbelt. we agreed on this. so angela went to tell her dad in person. he said no. and angela came back to the group chat with a new plan. the new plan, which i know sounds..off.. was to do two trips. basically it was me and mandy would be in the first trip, so angela's dad would drop us off at the theatre and then drive back to angela's house (this would take 30 mins round trip). so..me and mandy were like wtf?! and angela was trying to piece it together still. we told her to say this outloud and she facetimed us and explained it again. both me and mandy reexplained it to her until she finally realized how odd it sounded. we all vocalized why we were uncomfortable. but angela said that we had to because her dad was denying everything. i told her to tell her dad that we weren't comfortable with this. so she did. the only issue: angela took her phone with her. her father asked who she was with and angela replied me and mandy were there.. we weren't expecting him to start talking to us ...but he did? he started arguing with us and when i tried to calmly explain/reassure him that we wouldn't get a ticket. he denied what i said quite rudely, and told me i was wrong, saying some bs like "i think id know better ive been driving for 30 years!". mandy and me later calculated this means hes around 56 at the least so this next part just makes it all that worse. i hung up, getting quite upset and not wanting to get my emotions ahead of me. i got a text from my friend mandy who was shocked to say the least. mandy informed me that after i had left angela's father had told both mandy and angela that he "didnt want to argue with my bitchy ass". mind you he is at the least fifty six years old...and i am fourteen. i started sobbing and both me and mandy cancelled the plans for that night. tho our other two friends other than angela. let's call them lerona and joleen. they continued the plans with angela..at angela's house..with the only parent in supervision being her dad..!!!! and this was after i had told everybody the entire story. their reasoning is they didn't want to make it seem like it was angela's fault.. okay ig. i thought it would blow over but the next day, mandy and i said that we had FOMO last night and wanted to hang out/maybe see the movie again sounds great right? no. angela responded passive aggressively, and when i explained that we were upset we didn't get to see the movie but everybody else had decided to/got to. it lwky felt like lerona and angela had taken advantage of the situation because after we cancelled they continued and had enough seats now. this fell into angela saying that i was pressing her father and that's why he called me a bitch ass. i was like..wtf!!?! i left the group chat and pm'ed mandy. she was fed up and turned off her notifications for the group chat. she was in shock as well, but added me back in protest. later than night angela left saying "she needed a break". um. like she's taking away our like .. yk power in the argument.. in the most petty way ever. and like..idk i guess i just wanna know am i really the assh*le??
