So for some context: I (18M) love art and I partake in it, I create mostly art pieces along the lines of Oil based mediums, but every once in a while I dabble in to pen and ink line work which seems to be my dads favorite artwork of mine. Specifically an art piece I made of these Dogs in big mech space outfits fighting over the moon in ink. I also have been attending a 2 year long AP art class, within the first year I obtained a 4 on the AP 2D design course. So I do humble myself as a pretty decent artists, and my parents tend to agree. My Mom is an editor for websites and brochures, she markets her business off of Facebook and Instagram, she makes pretty good money out of it.

Onto the actual story however, it was yesterday as I was studying for my statistics test when I started to hear my mom talk with my aunt (my room is right next to the living room and the walls are very thin). When I thought I heard her say "I had taken his piece of dogs in space and tried using it to make dogs in other scenarios of a coloring book." I wasn't fully thinking so I get off my bed and slam my door open and say "you fed my art into an AI machine?!" Phrasing it in the same way that Kristen Stewart in twilight said "YOU NAMED MY DAUGHTER AFTER THE LOCHNESS MONSTER!" I'm not very confrontational and or ever get mad so it's hard for me to express angry emotions.

My mom just yelled "No I didn't and mind your damn business!" She then laughed it off as I walked to the bathroom after being relieved that that's not what I had heard. I then walked past her and she had asked, "are you done throwing your conniption fit?" In a joking manner. I didn't really respond, I acknowledge that might've been rude I was just flustered and didn't know how to react.

So time passes by and my dad is back home, he says "your mother told me about your moment when you thought she had used AI." I had said "I apologize I just got all flustered and was worried," they both reassured me and told me that they would never put my art into a generative AI machine. My mother than explained her side of the story, she said "There was a make your own coloring book trend so like your dogs in space piece, I had generated dogs in funny scenarios just to try it out." My mom then apologized as well saying she would never put my art into AI machine. So that's the end of the story, right?

My mom then goes on to say "but I hope you realize that you need to implement AI to make your art better." My dad pitches in and say "I'm not allowed to do that because of my art program." My mom then says that I should still look into it. I then told her that I "wouldn't ever stoop that low." My mom then said "and what is that supposed to mean, I'm not below you!" I guess in reference to the fact that she has used it to experiment. I told her that's not what I meant, but then the argument fizzles out and I just go to my room in silence.
