So some context, I (29M) live with two roommates, who we'll call Laura F31 and Jess F29. Laura is my very good friend from college. I am not super close with Jess, but I would consider us friends (the three of us we watch TV together, have grabbed drinks a bunch of times, etc)

So, it is a three bedroom with one bathroom. Two nights ago, I woke up with a horrible stomach ache around 8am and ran to the bathroom to find that it was occupied by Laura taking a shower. I waited for a few minutes and then went back to my room to lay down and try to wait it out.

I went back about 10 minutes later and she was still in there. I was a bit embarrassed and was not prepared to knock on the door or draw any attention to the fact that I needed to use the bathroom so badly so I made a pretty regrettable decision.

I grabbed some paper towels from the kitchen and ran into Jess' room and used her cat's letterbox. My thought process was that she had already left for work and I would immediate clean it (our backdoor leads right to our apartment building's trash area). I figured I would have enough time to empty it into the trash before Laura got out of the shower and I would have plenty of time to spray air freshener and crack the windows before Jess got back from work around 6pm.

Regrettably, as I was taking the litter box out of her room and heading for the backdoor, Laura was out of the shower and saw me. She asked what I was doing and then took a deep inhale and she immediately got very disgusted saying "thats so nasty, I can't believe you did that"

I tried to explain but it was way too embarrassing. I ran off to empty the litterbox into the trash. When I got back upstairs, the entire kitchen and Jess's room smelled like.... well it was just pretty obvious what had happened.

I haven't seen either of them since but I sent a text message to both explaining what happened and apologizing for doing that. I am so embarrassed and I feel like a complete idiot.
