Wife and I have been married for 15 years and have 2 daughters, 6 and 9. The 6 year old sleeps in our bed, and the 9 year old sleeps in a mattress next to our bed. At least once or twice a week I end up sleeping on the couch because there is no room, and also sometimes just because I want some space.
Both kids have their own bedrooms with nice beds and blankets etc. We originally let them sleep with us because it was an easier bedtime routine, but I feel like it’s time for them to go into their own rooms. My wife likes the current arrangement, partially because she is too tired to do a bedtime routine in their own rooms at night. I’ve said I want our bed back quite a few times but we never end up making the change.
AITAH if I set a boundary and say I want them to go into their own rooms?
