I went away to a different country for a few months. Around the beginning of it my mom told me one day she got a cat (a kitten). I was surprised but ok. Fast forward to a month later, I grew to like the cat because she’s really cute. Then another day my mom told me that “I can’t keep a cat if I’m living along so I’m giving the cat away”. I was surprised and told her that I thought she’d keep the cat and told her many reasons why. She kept bringing it back to how I’m not living with her (to be fair she live 1h20 away from dt). So I said ok I’ll come live with her. But she still gave the cat away.

Final fast forward, I came back from the internship, is living with my mom and her friend was nice enough to let us kept the cat for 2 weeks. I grew to really love the cat and asked if we could take her back. My mom said no because I didn’t refer to the cat as “our cat” when I was away (among some other reasons).

AITAH for wanting to take care of the cat when my mom had gave her away? I feel like from my opinion I had always strongly advocate for keeping her but my mom gave her away and saying it was part of my fault.
