I (31f) have a friend (29f) who is in an abusive relationship.

I want to preface this by saying I never tell my friends to leave their man. Regardless of what they come to me with I just try to be a listening ear. But this particular friend called me Friday and told me her boyfriend strangled her and she almost thought she wasn’t going to make it. I was very concerned and was just trying to help her find a safe place to go, find resources etc. They have a newborn son, and the entire time he was holding the newborn. He then locked himself in the room with the baby and went to sleep and left her down stairs. This same man assaulted her while she was pregnant.

A few hours later while on FaceTime she nonchalantly told me she was in the room playing call of duty with him. I was baffled.

I’m tired of trying to help and hearing about all of the chaos just for her to act like nothing happened hours later. I wanted to get the police involved, but she told me not to and of course I know it’s not my place.

I feel like at this point I need to remove myself because it’s just too much and only so much I can offer today while she decides to just stay. I’m also not comfortable being around him or having him know where I live with certain stuff she’s told me he’s done. WIBTAH for cutting her off over it?
