I’m going on a group trip where we will all be meeting for the first time in the destination (I’ve done this many times before). There’s a group chat for the trip and someone introduced themselves by saying “My name is John Doe but I ask that you call me Dr. doe” I feel like it’s super weird and elitist to call someone a similar age to me by their title and last name while we’re all on a vacation. Would I be a huge AH if I just called him John?
