📝 AITAH in this argument or were they arguing a different matter?

This is going to be tamer than most posts on the sub, and laughably so. Nonetheless, I need some clarification as to whether I was the AH in this convo.

This started after the Marathon (Bungie game, not some long run) reveal. I said on Disc that it looked stale. Some other guy (we'll call them Garfield) said that Destiny 2 (another Bungie game, nothing to do with fortune cookies) was more stale, something which I refuted. I claimed that D2 had the "best shooter experience" out of shooters, to which two other people (we'll call them Franz and Josephine) suddenly began to reply to. They claimed that they played it for 18 and 100 hours respectively (I have 2.4k hrs sad as that may be, as well as many hours on a vast array of other shooters), and that they knew that it was not the best shooter. I clarified what I meant by what I said, saying that I was referring to gunplay and movement, and that Bungie made a game that felt good to play. I also referred back to the origins of the conversation, and how Garfield and I were talking about how the Marathon looked (and as it was only a snippet we saw in the reveal, we couldn't be comparing D2 entirely with Marathon entirely, but that we were comparing gunplay and movement).

Regardless of my clarification, Franz and Josephine continued to claim that I was saying D2 was a good game and that it wasn't, and now began to claim I was changing the goalposts of the argument. This continued for 20 mins or so. Throughout this time, I pointed out flaws within D2 as a whole, to show that I was accepting D2 wasn't an outstanding game overall, and I continued to stress that I was only saying it's gunplay and movement were really good.

This argument fizzled out eventually. I understand that my initial comment was vague and broadly worded, but surely my clarification, and my consistent emphasis on it throughout the conversation later, means that the 'goalposts' always stayed the same, and that they were the ones arguing a different point entirely?

So, AITAH? Or are these people just silly goons?
