I’ll try to keep this short and to the point. I consider this person a close friend, and typically, when she messages me, I respond the same day or within a day or two. We usually have some kind of conversation going.
But over the past several months, she’s been replying to my messages a month later—every time. And it’s not even a continuation of our conversation; it’s just small talk like “How are you?” or “What’s new?” I’ll respond again within a day or two, but then the same thing happens: a month of silence, followed by a casual check-in.
This has happened at least three times, and now we’re on the fourth. She sent me a message a few days ago, and this time, I haven’t replied. That’s really out of character for me, but I’m just tired of feeling like I’m stuck in a loop.
I don’t believe she’s too busy to reply within a month—if she had time to start a conversation, she could at least follow through. At this point, it feels like I’m not as important to her as I used to be, and honestly, it’s disheartening.
So, am I wrong for leaving her on read and giving her a taste of her own medicine?
