I (19M) share an apartment with three other people, including Zoe (20F). We're not super close but we've been civil. Ever since I started taking fitness seriously last year, I've been going to the gym 5 times a week. Not obsessive, just working on myself.
Last week, Zoe and her friends were hanging out in our common room while I was getting ready to go work out. I overheard them laughing about "gym bros" and their "fragile masculinity." Then Zoe specifically pointed at me and said something like "prime example right there" and they all laughed harder.
Yesterday, Zoe asked if I could help her move her new dresser up the stairs because it was "too heavy" for her. I told her I was busy and suggested she ask one of her friends who were making fun of gym culture to help instead. She got upset and said I was being petty, but I think it's hypocritical to mock something and then want to benefit from it.
Now she's been cold to me and told our other roommates I'm a jerk. My friend said I should have just helped her regardless because "that's what decent people do," but she was disrespectful first.
