📝 Am I an ass for grilling my roommate?

My roommate is a alcoholic, no doubt about it. They also have the unfortunate habit of drinking my own alcohol should I leave it unattended in the kitchen. Which is what I saw today. Went to his glass, save it a sniff and boom, whiskey. Something that I drink, that he typically doesn't. (He's a vodka/white wine/cheap beer kinda drunk) I'm not a fucking idiot, I have eyes and a nose. But when I press the issue(which has happened multiple times) he denies it, so I sent him a text asking him to fess up and throw me some cash and I'll look the other way(like half the cost of the bottle), he went on a tangent about how he's covering the entirety of the internet bill(which he uses the most of since he's home all the time) even though I'm covering all consumables. Spices and cooking oil, foil and paper towels, dish detergent and cleaning supplies, toilet paper. And I've told this guy if the house needs anything or if you want anything, just text me and I'll handle it. But he doesn't say a fucking peep.

Now granted I'm not the greatest, I leave dishes in the sink(dishes and cutlery that I own), and he does a very nice deep clean once in a while which I love, but I handle the gardener, the bins, and anything else. This guy is home 80% of the time, he works maybe 4 hours a day Friday to Sunday and on holidays, so I have no fucking clue how he's paying rent.

Tldr: I don't hate the guy, but for a moment when I saw my bottle half empty I wanted to leave an impression of his face in the wall. (But I didn't because I am a mentally well, emotion regulating human) am I the asshole here?
