(FAKE NAMES) So basically, around a week ago, I (16F) was hanging out with my current boyfriend, Josh (17M), when one of my old childhood friends, Jaxon (16M), sent me a picture of him with my ex-boyfriend, Mitchell(16M). Naturally, I texted my “best friend”, Mackenzie (15F). Now, me and Mackenzie haven’t known each other for long. She just transferred to my school this year, (about 9 months ago), and we have second hour, Spanish, together. We’ve had sleepovers, she came to my birthday party, we just hang out a lot in general. Also, background, me and Mackenzie have a mutual friend named Taylor (15F). Taylor has known Mackenzie for a long time, since they used to dance together. Jaxon is Taylors ex. Taylor and Mackenzie also recently had a falling out and Mackenzie has been very rude about it, so me and Taylor have gotten closer since we’ve been friends for around 2 years. So, I texted Mackenzie and was talking about how Jaxon and Mitchell were hanging out. She was talking about how gross that was. Two hours later, I check Mackenzies location on snap, and who is she hanging out with? Mitchell and Jaxon. I text her to ask if it’s a coincidence or shes actually hanging out with me and Taylor’s exes, and she sends me a video of Mitchell going “FUCK YOU (my name)” … What? I send her a picture of Josh’s car’s ceiling. I am in shock. Mackenzie and Mitchell didn’t know each other AT ALL. This was the first time they’ve ever spoken. And she knows all the stuff he did to me, (he was very emotionally abusive), she was there and listened to me cry about it in school when we broke up in August. We were dating for almost 2 years. Then, she texts me apologizing, but not a genuine apology, more like her trying to make me think im crazy for being upset. She started talking about how she didn’t recognize him, (I’ve shown her pictures and she’s pointed him out at school before) and then she changes her story and was saying Jaxon invited her out and she didn’t want to be rude and say no. Then what did she do? She turned off her snap location so I couldn’t see if they were still together. She continued to lie, digging herself deeper and deeper and didn’t stop until I she realized I wasn’t budging and I knew everything. Now, we’re supposed to do a cooking project together in Spanish which means we have to go to someone’s house (probably mine) and cook something together. I do not want to do this project with her, and shes acting like nothing’s wrong. AITAH for being mad at her after she hung out with my ex-boyfriend, and should I ask my teacher to do the project myself?
