I, 15 F, took the ACT test for the first time. Before the test, my school had told me the test was self paced and that we could get out whatever time we wanted so I told my dad that. An hour into the ACT, I snuck my phone to the restroom after hearing we were really supposed to get out at 12 and texted my dad the updated time. This upset him greatly and he said “wtf you’re really starting to piss me off. Get the time right.” But the time updates were out of my control. I told him whatever the school told me. Around 11:50, we were told there was one test left so I didn’t want my dad to be waiting and I told him there was another test left and he told me he was going to leave me at the school and I apologized for the inconvenience. Now, after the test and he picked me up, he got lost in a neighborhood. He asked me where we were and I told him honestly that I didn’t know where we were and he snapped at me “I’m telling you to take your fucking maps out”. For context, im neurodivergent and a very sensitive person, I don’t take kindly to people (especially men) yelling at me. I told him he didn’t have to cuss at me like that and he said “I’ll talk to you however I want to” so I started redirecting him throughout the city. By the time we got to my mom’s house, I had already been trying not to cry because he yelled at me and as soon as I got into my room, I sobbed. Maybe he was in a bad mood because the school kept changing the time we were supposed to get out, but I don’t believe it was my fault. So am I the asshole?
