Whenever I accidentally mess up anything at work a common question that a customer asks is "Are you new?" Or they ask my boss "Is she new?" Right in front of me. Even when I am NOT new. I am tired of feeling like I suck at my job. Nobody else at the job is perfect either (obviously i know nobody is perfect and I don't expect anyone to be).
But I have had a few times when this has happened. But the time that sticks out the most was when this elderly lady with a very picky order was at my store and told me her order. She said that I did a good job making her food but she still complained to my boss cause I had trouble finding her coupon in the system. (It was a very specific coupon that was for carry out only and not elegible for delivery. We were a pizza restaurant)
I am the assistant manager and she complained to my regional director who happened to be at my store that day. He helped me find the coupon and then she asked him "Is she new?" And then my boss said "Yes." (No I was not new.) Then she said "I already asked her if she was new and she said no." Then my boss said "She is from a different franchise." And he sounded really sad when he said it.
I am tired of feeling like I suck at my job. And no I am not "new." I am a rehire for that company but this is a different franchise and a different location cause I moved. But when she was asking if I was new, she did not mean if I was new to this location. She meant if I was new to the company in general.
Not only that but most of my employees that I have under me don't even listen to me anyways. Some of them do but a lot of them act like they can just ignore what I told them and some of them even try to tell ME what to do even if I am their boss.
Our oven is on a converyer belt. Today when something almost fell out of the oven I asked one of my employees to catch the oven and he basically told me no and then when I was about to catch it my other assistant manager (who I thought was busy with a different task) told me "I got the oven" and told me to go back to the make line. Then as I was going back to the makeline our GM came back from a delivery with a smirk on her face.
She also keeps bringing up shit from the past about me yelling at her only ONE time when I got fed up with her being condescending to me. But she is a huge hypocrite cause I have litterally seen her slap one of our delivery drivers in the face before (something that is way worse than yelling).
Please wait...
